"We ran an extremely well regarded business support programme – Enterprise Ecologies – which focussed on the generation of business ideas and pre-start support for individuals in the city of Nottingham. It involved a significant amount of community support work and engagement and was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. S4W won the tender to undertake the final evaluation of the programme and we specifically wanted examples of good practice and identification of which activities could be replicated in other business support programmes to be reviewed and tested.

We were extremely pleased with the final report, it was comprehensive without being too long, it clearly demonstrated that a wide range of people – deliverers and users of support – had been consulted and, importantly, their views understood. It also gave us the information to enable us to select those areas of activity that worked well and to understand why and how."
- Alison Simpson, Business Growth Development Specialist, Economic Development, Nottingham City Council
